Bio

Hello there! My name is Joyce Chan and I have come to NYCCT to seek a bachelors degree in the hospitality management department.Here at NYCCT, I am looking forward to an further education and knowledge in the service that is critical in the hospitality and the tourism industries. My dream is to open my own coffee shop one day. My favorite thing to do in life is being able to make my guests frown turn upside down.

This is a course in effective essay writing and basic research techniques, including the use of the library. College-level readings are assigned for classroom discussion and essay writing. In addition, we will utilize a new digital platform called OpenLab, which will help us to engage with each other’s writing and with the world outside of the classroom.

Urban Tourism 2015

This course will examine urban tourism as a vehicle of urban renewal and economic regeneration. The roles of government, business, and the community will be explored as well as issues of development, management, the environment and social equity. New York City and Brooklyn will be evaluated as models for the development, challenges and opportunities of urban tourism.

http://websupport1.citytech.cuny.edu/Faculty/fmasiello/index.htm D550 Fridays 11:30 – 2:00 This course will allow students to examine the relationship between film and their literary sources. Through classroom discussions and out-of-class assignments, students will analyze classic and contemporary literary texts and their cinematic versions. Students will examine the relationship between film and literature, with specific focus on the techniques used in fiction, drama and film and the influences of censorship and society. Students will focus on the similarities and differences of literary works adapted into films.
