How to effectively end your communication

Help the reader recall all your facts and main points so its easier for them remember and reaffirm the relationship you’ve established. Stop after you’ve made your last point, avoid anything excess so nothing is taken away from your argument or points. Tell your readers what to do next and where they can find information on what you just presented them. Always use a combination f strategies that maximize the effectiveness of your message and the main points you’ve brought up.

Designing reader centered pages and documents

Good designs can help the reader understand your information by using visual design to show the direction and order your writing is about to be presented. It also helps the reader find the information a lot faster with good page design. If the design is made well enough it can help point out the most important information you are trying to communicate to the reader. The design can encourage your reader to continue reading your information and feel good about the subject matter being presented. As always take a reader centered approach to your design elements. Align related information with one another visually and use contrast to show the importance of each subject presented. Finally you want to make sure all the information is unified and visually communicates the message you initially set out to present and leaves a favorable impression on the reader or your employer.

Strategies of beginning your communication

After defining your communications objectives you want to motivate your readers to hold their attention and help them find what they need. Do this by using statements of topic and benefit, announce your topic and tell the reader how they will benefit from this information. You want to refer to any readers request and offer to help solve any problems they may have.  Encourage your readers to be open to information you are presenting and also have some knowledge of the background information the readers need. Make sure you choose the right length of an opening so the reader can find the information they are looking for. Present yourself as a partner not a critic or opponent. Make sure your readers are familiar with concept that you are presenting so they can relate and grasp the concept. Always adapt to readers cultural background to help get the information across to the reader. The chapter also discusses addressing unethical issues and gives three strategies to help resolve these issues by planting seeds, use reason rather than accusation and remain open to others views.

How to write a reader centered proposal

Throughout your career the opportunity to write proposals for ideas on new products or strategies is essential and this is how  you will get  your company to accept. Think of your goals and present them in a way that shows the benefit your proposal will have if put into effect. There are two goals of a proposal to persuade or to protect. If you are not persuasive you will not receive the funds or time to complete your ideas. When proposing you want to protect yourself and your company by only making offers on things you can actually fulfill, making false claims can cause severe legal consequences which is good for no one involved. These proposals can be written in a variety of situations, plan your proposal carefully and always think of the readers so that what you are proposing can benefit them. Think of questions the readers will ask and try to answer those in the proposals. try to plan out cost, capability , problems and solutions.
