I will be traveling on Monday so will not have internet access. I pre-recorded the lecture so please watch it and make sure to start on your WeBWorK assignments. You will find all the material here: Class Agenda #13

Exam #1 – Available in WeBWorK on Monday 10/4/2021 at 12 pm

Exam #1 is on Monday 10/4. Please mark your calendar. It covers Class Agendas #1-#6.

Grading for the Exam:

WeBWorK score (50%): Your exam will be available in WeBWorK on Monday 10/4 from 12 pm -2:30 pm. You will have 2 attempts per problem and a time limit of 150 minutes (2.5 hours).

Written worK score (50%): You have until 20 minutes from the end of your WeBWorK exam to submit your written work in Blackboard. There will be an assignment called “Exam #1 – Written Work” where you may upload your work. For every 20 minutes the written work is late you will lose 20/100 points for it.

Your written work will not be graded and you will not receive credit if you do not follow the following instructions:

• Write your name at the top of your work AND include your name in the file name. 
• Your written work MUST be uploaded to Blackboard under the assignment “Exam #1 – Written Work” as a pdf. NO OTHER FILE FORMAT WILL RECEIVE CREDIT.
• Files submitted via email will not be accepted.
• No jpegs or other file format will be accepted. 
• An easy way to create a pdf from photos taken with your mobile device is to use a free mobile scanning app like “Easy Scanner” or “Genius Scan.” 
• Do not submit, multiple separate pdf documents and submit one, merged, pdf document instead. You can merge pdfs online for free.

City Tech’s Academic Integrity Policy will be STRICTLY ENFORCED. Cheating of any kind including using work from automated math solvers will result in a FAILING GRADE FOR THE COURSE, reported to the university and, possibly, further action such as academic probation/suspension from the college. You are encouraged to review the Academic Integrity Policy in advance:

Sample Exam #1- available in WeBWorK on 9/27/2021 at 12 pm

Please note that your performance on Sample Exam #1 will not be graded or counted in your course grade. Sample Exam #1 will be available in WeBWorK. To get the most out of this practice opportunity,

1. You will have 150 minutes (2.5 hours) to take Exam #1 in WeBWorK and another 20 minutes to upload your work to Blackboard. You should follow the same timing when taking the Sample Exam.
2. IT IS STRONGLY recommended that you practice uploading your files to Blackboard. So many students FAIL to try this ahead of time and then contact me on exam day in a PANIC because they have technical issues and cannot follow the posted submission instructions. Please do not be one of these students. To practice uploading your files to Blackboard, please go to the assignment called “Sample Exam #1 – Written Work.” Be sure to format your files and name them according to the instructions.
