I moved to New York from China at 2001. Even I couldn’t speak any English that time, I knew I must find a job which I must speak English, because I was in New York, to be survival here, my language would be English. I learned English by myself words by words, sentences by sentences until today, I never stop to study.

I was a medical assistance at a clinical from 7/2001 to 5/2005. I studied and passed the board exam; I became a registered nurse and worked for a nursing home as a nurse coordinator from 5/2005 to 7/2009; I changed my job to a home care agency at 7/2009, I promoted to a nursing supervisor, oversaw 32 nurses; then, through the hard working, I got my certification as a certified diabetes educator (CDE), my job changed to a city hospital as a CDE 12/2013 until now.

Everybody said I am lucky, I want to say, “Try it, you will be lucky, too.”

I never give up!
