Open Access Publishing: Revolution in Scholarly Communication
The Open Access movement is revolutionizing scholarly communication—scholars are making their research freely available on the Internet. We’ll learn how and why the Open Access movement arose, the impact of recent NIH legislation, and how to find Open Access journals and other content. We’ll also discuss issues of scholarly communication outside of the traditional publishing system including peer-review, preservation, impact factor, and differences between academic disciplines. Workshops are open to all City Tech faculty members.
