The World Wide Web has improved many aspects of our life since the day it was invented. It has become so vital that many of people consider it as part of everyday life. We can view the news on the other side of the world just minutes after it happened. There is information we get from the Internet, but there is also information we give to the Internet. When we do online banking, shopping and many other websites which only registered user can view. Our private information has been recorded by those websites. It may seem that these information is doing no harm to us now, but it could lead to serious trouble when our private information on the wrong hands of people. The Platform for Privacy Preferences Project (P3P) will help improve the security for the consumers. “Numerous surveys have examined the server-side deployment of P3P documents, and and found that, outside of specific sectors on the Internet (such as US government websites and the top-selling e-commerce sites), few websites bother to post P3P documents.” The government should perfect the online privacy laws to force all the websites to post the P2P documents, therefore by law the consumers’ information will be pertected.
