Badke, Chapter4

Doing researchĀ can beĀ a daunting taskĀ sometimes if one do not have the right information, and chapter 4 in Research strategies is teaching us how to deal with the difficulties that we face when trying to find answers. One thingĀ I notice is that sometimes we getĀ lots ofĀ results that does not contain what we are actually looking for. This chapter talks about two point that would helps us to deals with these problems. First, he mentionsĀ that computersĀ can’t even tell the difference between two words, and Ā that the results we get depends on the metadata.Ā Metadata would helpĀ to distinguishĀ the words that we put in there. The second point he talked about was “controlled vocabulary”, and one thing i learned after reading this chapter is thatĀ one could get different result by just putting quotation mark on a word.
