Sitting to the far left of the class I was introduced “Topics of Graphic Design” taught by professor Marianna Trofimova.  From what I understood, this class is going to talk about graphic design in the real world.  In other words how much a Graphic designer is going to make, what are the potential jobs out there, and what are the types of graphic designers etc.

Then we were asked to introduced ourselves followed by a statement of what do we want to get out of this class.  I really enjoyed that sector of the class because it makes me feel that I am not alone when it comes to having so much questions in my head.  My question was “how much does a graphic designer make starting out?”  I am very intrigues to finding the answer to that question because everyone wants to know how much they are going to be worth once they get out of college.  Many people will say why don’t you “google it”.  but sometimes I feel like it is better to ask a professional like professor Trofimova where she has 20-30 years on the field. I feel like I can learn some RAW information from her class.  Theres nothing better than primary source.

After that we watched a short video about doodling.  How doodling can improve your attention span especially attending some lecture class.  A lot of people especially parent discourages such act because they think it is unproductive and immature. Instead doodling helps \people to obtain the information in class more fluently.  INTERESTING RIGHT?

In conclusion, I have a great feeling about this class apart from having to present in class.  I hate presentation but I know it something I have to conquer before I graduate from college. My field requires me to. anyways the professor looks really straight forward with a chilled attitude. I am looking forward to learning more from her class.
