Smoking Cessation Counseling, November 2021

E-cigarette cessation is the process of quitting electronic cigarette or vaping use. E-cigarettes have become increasingly popular in recent years, and while they are often marketed as a safer alternative to traditional cigarettes, they still contain nicotine and other harmful chemicals that can have negative health effects. Quitting e-cigarettes can be difficult, and many people may need to try several methods before successfully quitting. However, quitting e-cigarettes can have significant health benefits, and with the right support and resources, it is possible to quit for good. Oral and dental considerations of combat-induced PTSD: a descriptive study, April 2022

Combat-induced post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) can have significant oral and dental considerations. PTSD is a mental health condition that can result from experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event, such as combat. PTSD can cause symptoms such as anxiety, depression, and hyperarousal, which can impact oral and dental health in several ways. Some oral and dental considerations of combat-induced PTSD: Bruxism, poor oral hygiene, temporomandibular joint disorder, dental anxiety, and oral manifestations of certain medications. The research paper I wrote in the link above dives deeper in depth as to how these two are associated with one another.

Community Service Learning Project (Paper), April 2023

To promote good oral hygiene in children, it’s important to establish a regular routine of brushing and flossing, and to encourage children to eat a healthy, balanced diet. Regular dental check-ups are also essential to detect and prevent any oral health problems. By prioritizing oral hygiene in childhood, children can maintain healthy teeth and gums throughout their lives. This project allowed me along side with a few other classmates to do just that, using the tell-show-do method, of course. Read more about the planning, execution, and findings, of this community service learning project in the link above.
