I went to meet the profs tonight at N 119 Citytech. This event is a real social event not like the usual meet the profs they do at the auditorium. I came early, so I see only a few people inside. I decided to wait for a little outside but they are very nice to talk to us don’t be shy and welcome to go in. Me and other two students don’t know each other but we sit together. They set four chairs as a group. I can say they really did a great job on this meet the profs is like a real company social event I went before. They have snacks and drinks. They even have a photographer to go around also.
I sit down and meet some new people then the profs are coming to join each group. They are coming to answer students questions and share their experiences. One of the profs came to join us. He is a video editor graduated in broadcasting 3 years ago. What I learned from him by answering the questions is he’s always positive. As a graduating student, I feel like losing sometimes and worry about to find a job for or how to build the career. One of the questions I ask him how many internships he did before he gets this job. He told us how many experiences that he can’t say the exact interns he did but he starts to do outside work with friends relate to his major before. He meant your experience could by anytime not just from an internship. Once he mentioned working with friends He also said meeting new people is always helps you. Besides, other profs answers are very helpful to us when I go around to meet and try to hear more information. They have freelancers, graphic designer, and photographers.
Besides the conversation with the profs. The social event is mainly for students meeting new people also. We play the bingo games go around the room by asking questions if somebody wins they can get the prize. We also play other games after. It is a very helpful social event. I had a lot of fun there even though at the beginning we don’t know each other but this is the reason we should go for meeting new people.
