Journal Entry 5: Actuators

So once again, time for some more Oculus Rift! This time its actuators. For the Rift though, I think it might only have one actuator and that would be the head tracker. This is why I think why: the Rift has three ‘sensors’ which are the gyros,  accelerometers and  magnometers. All of these produce data that when put together can determine the position of the head. All this information I believe goes to the head tracker which receives the information and adjusts the 3D camera view to match the angle of the wearer’s head. There’s some firmware involved that delivers this data to the computer too but I feel the firmware is what does most of the actuating. More video examples!
