Lab report: Week #1 Blender stuff

Materials: Blender 3D modeling program

Summary: This week, we started working on blender stuff. Real easy so far since he’s introducing the program so no serious stuff yet. The terms I picked are “render“, “keyframing“, and “lights“.

Terms:

Render – To take a “picture” of the scene that is immediately viewed through the camera or any perspective of your choice.

Keyframe – To set the current selected object at a certain point in the timeline for animating. This is a must for animation.

Lighting – There are multiple lights to choose from for lighting your scene which are found in the “Add” tab at the top of the screen.

Now for some simple tutorials:

Render

1. To render a scene, Go to “render” at the top of the screen and select “Render Image”. Make sure the camera is adjusted to the correct angle you want it in. Alternatively, you can hit F12 as a shortcut.

Keyframe

1. To keyframe, select the object you want to animate.
2. hit the “l” key to insert a keyframe.
3. select “location keyframe”
4. Go to the timeline on the bottom of the screen and select to a different frame to key in.
5. Adjust the position of the object and hit “l” again.
6. If you did this right, hit the play button on the bottom and you should have your animation

Lighting

1. Go to the “add” option at the top of the screen
2. Go to “Lights”
3. Select the light of your choice
