I don’t see the harm in Costco selling wine. I think it would be good for wineries who wants to sell bulk wine. It’s also good for the consumer who can have good wine cheaper. Wine retail will still have business. I’m sure Costco won’t carry high quality wines or vast quantities of wine from all over the world. Although, I feel that who ever is buying the wine should have some kind of education background on the wine industry.

Being that Costco is the single largest wine seller at the moment, they should have someone withe the level of expertise needed to do the wine buying. Annette Alvarez-Peters does not seem to be passionate about her job. Sure she defends the wine she works with pretty good, but i think a sommelier could do a better job of buying. Costco deserves someone who does not think selling wine is the same as selling tin foil. Wine is a very big part of the profit made by Costco and deserves some kind of expertice, to continue doing well. Annette Alvarez-Peters is still unaware of the importance of wine in Costco, and the amount of people that it affects. I say get her out of there, she should be selling autoparts again!
