Monae and I (Anahi) focused on cultural tourism within Brooklyn Bridge and Dumbo. Cultural tourism is tied to the lifestyle, history, art and religion of people that has shaped Brooklyn. In Brooklyn Bridge and Dumbo, activities that relates to cultural tourism are, art auctions that brings local artists together to sell their art, which allows them to show other locals and tourists their talent. As we walked around, we observed many places that people can sit and relax. One in particular are the steps that were constructed with recycled material from destroyed buildings and structures. These steps overlooks a beautiful scenery of the river and manhattan, which creates an overall calming feeling. I also observed lots of plaques on the ground of the docks that symbolized and marked the history of Brooklyn which relates to both historic and cultural tourism.
