Refine – Final Sketch

Plants and butterflies are the two concepts I pick from my curiosity mid map. The word “curiosity” conjures up images of being open-minded, eager to learn new things, and observant. I became curious about how butterflies are preserved after hearing about it. I then started learning about butterflies and began framing and preserving them myself. Second concept: plants. I’m always interested in learning about new plants that I come across and their name.
Project Reflection:
This was an interesting project, starting with a word and creating a mind map, then reflecting on it and turning it into a simple representation. It was difficult to simplify the drawing by removing all of the features because the details provided greater definition. During the Refine process, I experimented with reversing the negative and positive shading, and certain drawings appeared better when the shading was negative. For the future project, I learned the tracing part, which was unique, and I hope it will be useful. Also, if I used the ink pen twice it will look darker and less whitish.
I like how simple and recognizable your shapes is. Although there is no details, I can tell what you want to communicate to the audience.
