Final Thoughts

The most important things i learned is how to use Camera raw as well as shooting in RAW, Advantages of portrait lighting, and learning how to look for interesting this to photograph rather than just take a simple photo. Im going to be able to use this in the future because now i have an idea of what to look for and think when i’m taking pictures as well as how to get the best results. This class just increased my knowledge and background of photography. I was able to help me become a better photographer by actually taking photos and learning as i go.

The biggest thing i got out of this class was composition, photography i learned is pretty much about good composition. Another thing i got out of this class was how to manipulate light. its very important for any artist to know how to use light and how it works. last i pretty much know more about cameras and how to take a proper photo and how the things in the menu of my camera works. i know more than i knew before about composition and how light works it would help later on.

painting with light

painting with light uses shutter speed to give you an image when you use a flashlight to make an image. also using a strobe light you can capture a human and also paint using a flashlight to give it an effect. the Sprint company uses this method to give it the speed effect, painting with light can give it an effect of motion.

LL 8-Final Evaluation

Depth of field is something I learned more about in this class. I learned that sensor size , aperture and distance from the subject matters much more than I thought. Lighting is another thing I learned more about in photography. The lighting of the pictures matter a lot and in the future I will pay more attention to how the light makes the photo looks better and how much it changes the mood in the photo. The angle in which I shoot photographs is something I found very important for a photograph especially in a portrait.

LL 8-Final Evaluation

Three concepts I learned in this class are:

Light painting, I never knew how to do this and I’d like to use it in the future for some photographs.

Portrait lighting, I didn’t know the basics of how to light a portrait using a key light, fill light and a background/diffused light. In the future when I do portraits this will make them look professional.

Shallow depth of field, In class I learned how to shoot with a shallow depth of field, I really like the look of it and i’m going to use it in future photographs.

Light Painting

This is my favorite photograph because I really like the way the green light turned out. The green light was done by holding a flashlight behind a bottle of Mountain Dew. The green light also looks like it was done with a paintbrush because it is not one solid streak of light , it has texture to it.

Super Hero

_MG_1872I chose this photo because it’s a reference to superman, specifically when he does his eye lasers. To obtain this shot I had to pose with my glasses pulled down slightly; then from there one of the members of my group came with a flashlight cover with red plastic. He then placed it by my eye and moved it in a straight line.

ISO-100

F-Stop- F/8

Exposure time- 8 Sec.

Best painting with light

I personal believe this image has a strong vibrant feel. The light painting swirling around the model really brings out an engaging moment. The light feels as if it is rolling from the top of her head. The light also has a powerful and glowing thickness to it, showing an interesting well developed movement. Overall, the image is my personal favorite.
