My Electronic Profile

Ever since I was a little girl, from baking in a easy bake oven to helping my grandmother in the kitchen, I knew my heart, my passion, was set on being in the kitchen. I was so dedicated to the art of creating food that I took a Wilton cake decorating course. My inspiration in the baking industry is Buddy Valastro, otherwise known as Cake Boss. I say this because hes all about family and giving back to society through the love of pastry, which is what I aspire to do. Recently, I went on vacation, and loved it. On my vacation I caught a glimpse of many different cultures and realized that pastry arts isn’t my only passion, travelling is too. This is why I am a Hospitality Management major, it allows me to marry my three passions, pastry arts, travelling, and giving back, into one career. I have worked in cafes and kitchens but always felt as if something was missing. The Hospitality courses will give me much more needed experience and knowledge  in the food and travel and tourism fields which will help me accomplish my goals of one day owning a bakery, travelling the world learning  and experiencing different cultures, and giving back to society. My academic goal is to graduate with a bachelors degree in Hospitality Management and to learn everything there is to know about making my future customers fascinated with the service I provide. Some tools that this course will provide me with into accomplishing my goals are the study abroad in France and the Disney internship.  My personal strengths are my dedication, passion, and determination. When I set my mind to something, I will complete it and succeed.  What motivates me to keep pushing even when i want to quit is my family, without family I won’t be where I am today.

“I believe there’s an inner power that makes winners or losers. And the winners are                                the ones who really listen to the truth of their hearts. ”

I went Cardinal McCarrick high school through my freshman and sophomore year and Erie First Christian Academy through junior and senior year. I wanted to be a chef since when I was in middle school and I am excited to learn what I want. My goal is to learn culinary arts and work in the hotel as a chef and when I get enough experience to do cooking and financial work by my self, I want to open a small restaurant with a bar and different special menu every week. I want to learn new things in hospitality management also get lots of new experience with new people I meet. I worked at cafe in Korea for 1 year, worked in catering business for 1 year, served sample food like rice cakes, kimchi, fish cakes, ramen for 2 years in grocery store, also in red ginseng store for half year, and kitchen in high school dorm for 2 years. From those experiences I learned more thing about cooking and giving service to other people with a professional manner.I think my personal strength is I know what I want to do so I just have to work towards my goal. I’m interested in design of the dish and my personal favorites are Mexican and Italian food.

My passion is definitely all about giving back to others. I have countless memories of being in the kitchen cooking with my family, those experiences unknowingly became the building blocks to my career choice now. Majoring in hospitality management gives me a broad spectrum of opportunities that I will need in order to achieve my goals. What are my goals? You ask, I want my cuisine and restaurant to be considered “The Great Equalizer”, a place of sincerity, culture and really great food that come together to form a common ground of happiness for everyone.
I have always been a hard working person but there is something inspiring about the freedom you get as a college student. It allows me to choose my own path, Although I haven’t reached my goals just yet, my ambition continues to push me beyond my limits. Sometimes my lack of professional experience discourages me but I have learned to use it as my motivation. Beginning my journey here at City Tech has unleashed many possibilities to gain the experience I’m missing, such as the study abroad program and the Disney internship program. Academically I am determined to take on everything that comes my way in order to receive the grades I know I deserve. Most of all I hope to encourage others to accomplish their goals and be a part of a community that is established on the sole purpose of providing an unforgettable experience for everyone.
