To-Do Before Class

  • Drawing Assignment – 2 Views of Desk from our classroom
    • From your sketches in class, and the dimensions given, complete your drawings at the scale of: 3/4″=1′-0″.
      • Plan View – from above the desk, looking down
      • Front Elevation – use sketches / photos from class
      • Use the dimensions you wrote into your sketchbook
    • We will review these and make changes where needed in class 4
    • All drawings shall be done on 11×17 paper
    • We will add a title block + graphic scale during class 4
  • Bring your Desk Drawing to class – you will add to it during class 4
  • BRING YOUR SKETCHBOOK AND ALL YOUR DRAWING TOOLS TO CLASS
    • Bring your architectural scale; triangle; mechanical pencil or lead pointer; 11×17 paper; drafting dots or tape
  • Reading and Writing:Read this article on Sketching by Chris Wilkinson, and write a 1-page reflection that answers these 2 questions:
    • Why is sketching important to you?
    • Why is sketching important to the author of the article?

    • Sketch small building elevations – Front and Side
    • Add dimensions provided by professor + on Slides

  • SUBMIT Revised Desk Drawing to Dropbox — DUE FRIDAY FEB 25 11pm
    • Complete drawing on 11×17 sheet you started in class Thursday
