Time Capsule

If you are reading this hopefully you have done a great job this past semester. You did it, you finished year one of college. In the beginning of the semester you were bummed out you weren’t in the same course as your boys, but maybe that was for the better. That being said hopefully you will use the writing ability you learned during this semester in future courses, or in general whenever you need the feel of writing. Hopefully you didn’t slack on assignments, even though knowing you it’s inevitable. In the beginning of the semester you enter the course with a few books being read at home, hopefully you have read a few by now.  All you learned in this course is important as you know you have to able to communicate with others in the constuction management field and hopefully architect down the line. You require good communication skills in these fields, most jobs in general require great communication with co workers. If you somehow did mess this semester up, do what you did before entering junior year, self refelct and do better. Not all paths are perfect, Remember the goal at hand and the house you want to build for mom. But we got this far so I know for a fact you didn’t mess up, that’s there just in case. If you passed as you should, enjoy the summer but be ready to get back to it come August.

Time capsule

“If you can’t find the front door, use a window.” A piece of advice my high school teacher gave me that I hope end of semester Emely begins to live by.  For me, this quote describes the way life is untraditional and it’s irrational to believe that you can plan every second of your life or that there is ever only one right path. I hope that by the end of the semester, the pressure of having a figured out future is lifted off my shoulders. I also wish that the overbearing anxiety of public speaking has decreased and I can actually share with the class all of the literature oriented thoughts that are zooming through my head. Having parents who are solely focused on my career choices is my excuse for always feeling the need to hide myself in a classroom of students who probably have always had their ten year plan designed on their Pinterest boards.  So a piece of advice I hope June 2022 Emely takes is to find a window in a room full of doors because there is never one correct way out.

Just a little piano because I hope by June I can actually play in front of people without being paralyzed by embarrassment.

Time Capsule

Dear end of the semester self,

I hope you have been keeping up with all of your work, like you said you would. I hope you haven’t given up yet, because you should not give up, especially when you made it this far. This is only the beginning. I hope you made it to class on time and attended it all. I hope this year you become even more organized and focus on yourself more. But also, be available for your family and friends. Everyday should be a productive day. This year I feel you should start reading books and work on studying habits. When you feel overwhelmed, you should write your feelings down or type it in notes, this way you do not have to bottle it up. Do you finally know what you are deciding to do for the future? Which route do you want to take? Well, whatever you choose I know it will be the right decision
