In Mike Bunns article, “How to read like a writer”, he talks about changing your perspective when reading. On page 73 he says,“Instead of reading for content or to better understand the ideas in the writing , you are trying to understand how the piece of writing was put together by the author and what you can learn about writing by reading a particular text.” The idea is that when you read a text, instead of focusing on the message , you should pay attention to how to author was able to convey the message. This strategy can help you grow with your own writing skills by learning new vocabulary and transitions. Reading like a writer means to try and learn how an author wrote their text. How they came to their conclusion.
