For my topic, “Why Do Older Adults Believe Video Games Cause Violence?”, the audience I’m trying to reach out to is older adults and young adults, and teens. For the older adults, I want them to see that the way they portray video games as a bad thing that rots our brains and causes us to do violence isn’t a clever way to see people like us who love to play video games. For young adults and teens, I want to show them how relatable this topic is and how we can show them that video games are just for entertainment and not for violence. The genre I’m planning to write in is an article. I chose this genre because I believe that articles would be a straightforward way to explain my topic to my target audience since they can contain a lot of information and I can put in pictures that the younger audience would prefer. Not everyone wants to read long pages. Right now, one way I’m planning to get started is by finding out how to make an article and work on that immediately. I guess one thing I might be worried about is that I have never written an article before so it would be my first time. What’s also concerning is that I hope I have a lot of information for my target audience to be satisfied with it when I’m done with the project.
