Research starts with a thesis statement
Â âWe acknowledge that we do not have the only or the best answer to every question, and that we might learn something from considering the ideas of othersâ. I love this quote because it’s true we learn so much but only from research material like books etc but from one another. Us as humans obtain way more information than just a book on a self we have feelings, opinions and answers something books don’t have. Considering others’ ideas could really help us learn more from just listening.
Â âA researcher who begins with an open-ended question motivated by curiosity, whose goal is not to prove anything, but to discover salient ideasâ. All researchers should think this way the idea of not proving anything but exploring ideas with curiosityÂ
âViewing research as a process of discoveryâ. Research is so fun because okay we are discovering what we are looking for but this leads to questions that are sometimes not answerable but lead to other questions from your questions and i think that’s great.
âParents also need to learn to be comfort- able with saying âI donât knowâ in response, rather than search- ing for a simple answerâ. This is crucial saying I don’t know things we are uncertain about because we don’t have to know everything and maybe children need that mindset growing up that it’s okay not to know an answer, not every question needs an answer and we need to learn that that’s okay.Â
