When it comes to genres I feel that I know fiction and non-fiction very well. These are the genres that I mostly encountered. Such as essays, novels, journals, research papers. Some common rhetorical features of these genres include metaphors, similes, imagery. Some rules that I was told to follow in the past would be that I should write all the ideas that I have because it takes so many drafts before you get to the perfect one. This shaped my writing because it perfects my writing and there is something work from. I believe it helps to have a form to follow when writing because it helps me know what I have to write and it makes my writing more organized. When having a form to follow the freedom is limited and unlimited at the same time.
