Annotation of "Research Starts with a Thesis Statement"
  • Ambiguity had me left with a few questions about what the word meant. It means The quality of being open to several interpretations.
  • “In other words, research isn’t just for backing up our hunches. It can, and should, also be used as a method of investigating areas of uncertainty, curiosity, conflict, and multiple perspectives.” However, I can connect to this quote because this shows how the technology has changed as time passed.
  • “We should conduct research not just to back up our pre-existing assumptions and prove we’re right about something, but also when we feel curious or confused and do not have answers. Why is something the way it is? Why doesn’t the data quite add up? How could something be changed for the better?” I contemplate that everyone should attempt it. Even though we don’t research as much as we should I think we should research things even when we are left with questions.
