Core Values

One’s core values are the most important quality one can possess as it shows society who someone really is when no one is looking or is there to evaluate and judge their character. My most appraised moral is friendships. I strongly believe that you can glimpse into someone’s character by evaluating their past and present relationships and bonds ranging from family to friends and romantic and unromantic relations. Reflecting on the past friendships that I had, I can honestly say that I have grown and evolved as a person because of them. I learned so much from my friends which made me a better person overall and I will cherish and appreciate those memories and lessons for a lifetime. As for my ethical values, I firmly believe that one should be willing to learn new things. Learn new things to create a window for new life-altering opportunities since it challenges you to think outside your norms. Being stuck in the same mindset limits one’s opportunity since it affects the way you see the world. One’s lifestyle is a direct reflection of the perspective of the world. To do better is to know better.

One of my future goals is the be more outspoken and outgoing which means building strong bonds and relations in and out of the classroom. This relates to my core values since I believe that one’s character can be measured by their friendship. Having the right friends can be great for one’s mental and emotional health as it provides a safe space where you can express your feelings without fear of being judged and also the confidence that whatever you expressed stays with that person(s). It can also provide lots of opportunities in the future. Friends can also challenge you to see the world differently and change your perspective.

Improving my writing and communicating skills will help me achieve my goal of being more outspoken and outgoing as it will challenge then eventually better my thinking process, improve my grammar, the way I form complex sentences, and the ability to articulate what I am feeling and thinking. Being able to express myself and communicate clearly, can be very helpful to me in the future whether it is in a job interview, doing a school project, or public speaking.
