- Feedback Handout(s) based on three Bad Bunny paragraphs:
- “The Three Common Tenses Used in Academic Writing” – if I commented on verb tense
- “Word Choice” – if I encouraged more detail-oriented language
- “Reducing Informality in Academic Writing” – if I noted the use of “I” in academic writing
- “Run-on Sentences” – if I made note of run-on sentences or breaking up the structure of sentences
- “Writing Concisely” – if I made note of academic language or sentences that could be cut down
- Homework:
- Read “Shitty First Drafts” by Anne Lamott and at least one feedback handout
- Start first draft of Unit 1 assignment (due next Wednesday, 9/27)
- At least 800 words
- Think about how details relate to sentences relate to paragraphs relate to essay shapes
- You are allowed to use materials that you have already written
- I’m happy to set aside time in office hours if you’d like to go over any of these materials or have any questions about the assignment
- Extra credit: Go to a Writing Center tutoring appointment for Unit 1 assignment
- Write a few sentences on strategies discussed
- Allows one incomplete in-class or homework assignment to be converted to full grade (if you don’t have one, this can be banked)

- Points available until 10/4 for going to writing center appointment and writing me a few sentences about the strategies you discussed
