SUBJECT: Project 1, Annotated Bibliography
Below is an annotated bibliography in relation to a career of either in immigration law or international law; two areas of law I am interested in.
Buchanan, Bruce E. (2012, March). Staying in America.Tennessee Bar Journal, Volume 48(3), 14-15.
This article concentrates on immigration law from the viewpoint of an immigration lawyer based in Nashville, TN. The articleâs focus is on giving potential immigration lawyers clues as to what specific knowledge they will need to acquire before being qualified to represent clients with immigration issues.
Buchanan (2012) on marriage based immigration to the United States:
Many potential clients have either just married or are considering getting married to a USC or LPR and want to know whether the immigrant will obtain legal status through the marriage. Some even believe the marriage itself automatically grants legal status. That is incorrect. (p. 15)
Corcoran, Erin B. (2014, December 15). Seek Justice, Not Just Deportation: How To Improve Prosecutorial Discretion In Immigration Law. Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review, Volume 48(1), 119-174
This lengthy article focuses on the difficult issue on how to achieve more just results for the approximately eleven million undocumented immigrants in the United States. The authorâs intent is to stress the fact that the DHS is not making proper use of its prosecutorial discretion pertinent to deportations.
Corcoran (2014) on prosecutorial discretion:
Prosecutorial discretion may be the only mechanism outside of legislative action that appreciates an immigrantâs individual circumstances and alleviate[s] the harsh consequence of deportation. (p. 124)
Swartz, Sally Anne. (2016, Jan/Feb). Inside Secrets From An International Lawyer. Student Lawyer, Volume 44(3), 29-33.
This article is the result of a lawyer giving inside secrets about the practice of international law. The questions and answers are very insightful for anybody considering not just law school, but an international law career. Fact is that international law is multifaceted with many career avenues for consideration.
Swartz on the increased importance of technology in international law:
Practicing international law isn’t a question of place but a question of your clients’ needs. With the huge technological progress we’ve experienced in the last 30 years, short of having to be physically in a courtroom or an arbitral hearing, you can practice international law almost anywhere provided you’re equipped with the appropriate technology. SUBJECT: Annotated Bibliography from sources related to Law.
Summary: The purpose of this annotated bibliography is to feature material sourced from articles related in the field of immigration and constitutional law.
1. This article details the results of the appeals process initiated by lawyers working on behalf of the Trump Administration in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals to remove a restraining order that was placed on an executive order by a federal judge. The executive order temporarily barred the entry of immigrants, including refugees into the United States from seven predominantly Muslim countries. The appeal was denied based on lack of evidence demonstrating immigrants from these countries presented a clear and present danger to the country’s national security.
Liptak in detailing some of the contents of the travel ban explained, âthe first executive orders Mr. Trump issued after taking office, suspended worldwide refugee entry into the United States. It also barred visitors from seven Muslim-majority nations for up to 90 days to give federal security agencies time to impose stricter vetting processes.â (Liptak, 2017)

This article discusses Article 4 of the 25th Amendment in a case study which seeks to explore the definition of âpresidential disabilities,â (Schuker) outline procedural hurdles, and legal remedies that may apply in the enactment of the law that would facilitate a transfer of power as implied in the principle of the amendment.
Daniel J.T. Schuker wrote, âAlthough no law can cover every conceivable case, a robust legal framework can help with classifying and assessing many seemingly ambiguous cases of presidential disability. The modern legal infrastructure provides no guidance for determining when a President has become constitutionally disabled.â (Schuker, 2014)

SUBJECT: Project 1, Annotated Bibliography
Following the reading of articles surrounding the field of electrical engineering, Iâve compiled a few annotated bibliography sources.
The first source is imperative as it questions the full effect standard schooling has on students with such critical topics as electrical engineering. Whether the current curriculum is just a compilation of subject matter that doesn’t touch on key aspects, are student’s mind being challenged enough to pursue the career. â American higher education isn’t badly broken, according to John L. Hennessy, president of Stanford University. It’s still “the envy of the world.” But it has to reckon with serious problems, including rising costs and falling degree-completion rates â ( John L. Hennessy, 22.3.2015)

With advancements through research I came upon an article based on whether DC electronic load can achieve a higher control accuracy. In using what is called Boost Topology it was concluded that with this construction it has a higher precision and stability of power in compared to traditional resistive loads.âThe structure of Boost circuit is simple and can ensure a continuous current in input port. Therefore, Boost topology was proposed to realize constant-current DC electronic load in this paper.â(Collaborative efforts of Guozhen Hu, Yan Wie, Huang Lei and Xuejun Ma)

SUBJECT: Project 1, Annotated Bibliography
The purpose of this memorandum âit is an annotated bibliography of sources-is to examine three examples of technical writing using relevant source material from the college library. This research helps to increase knowledge about the subject of exploring a future career in professional technical writing.
1. Linda Flower âoutlines a model of the writing process based on cognitive psychology and numerous experiments, asserts both the importance and possibility of technical assistance to writers. (Baker, 1996, p. 19).â When the writing text becomes prolematic the experienced writer revisits the goals of the subject and solves the problem by making revisions. The writer endeavours to reach the audience.
Baker, L. (1996, February). Technical assistance for writers in the workplace: some heuristic uses of professional wring techniques in a multiauthor writing process.â Technical Communication. 43.1.
2. Brian Bass writes in answer to the question âWhat tools and techniques fo you use to manage your time (including meeting deadlines and avoiding disractions)? âClients are counting on me to deliver and one of the 3 cardinal sins of freelancing is to miss a deadline (the other 2 are missing the target and missing the budget).(Bass, 2016, p.143).â Bass husbands his time and makes a good effort to separate distractions to get the job done.
Bass, B. (2016). What tools and techniques fo you use to manage your time (including meeting deadlines and avoiding disractions. Freelance Forum. p. 143.
3. Arlene Walters, Julie L. Phelan and Sarah A. Prins write that: âMedical writers use numerous databases (both free and subscription-based) and other information tools as they research, draft, and fact check their work.(Walters, Phelan, Prins, 2016. P. 104).â These writers use many tools to incorporate into their writing e.g. government and medical association websites and databases. However, a note of caution; websites do not always provide all of the competitive content so other options have to be explored.

In this memo, i’ll will discuss information in the source listed below that are related to a life long career as a computer scientists.
1) Wallace, Brian. âHow Computer Science Has Revolutionized.â
âhttp://www.cmswire.com/information-management/how-computer-science-has-revolutionized-tech/â August 1, 2017.
In an article called âHow Computer Science Has Revolutionizedâ Wallace stated that â Computer science and code have completely changed the world and how we interact with it. Program languages such as C, C++, Visual Basic and Java are used in the work field. And when iâm home i tend to use computing devices in order to listening to music, watch movies and or tv.
There are website that are available in order to understand what different types of languages can do. This article also explain how it human nature to fantasize about the future. Dreaming of video calls; which nowadays we call these features skype, facetime, and other application.
2) Dong, Wang, Zhou, Mingquan, Zhou, Pengbo, and Ali, Sjid âA novel engine: Complex event processing LAIPE.â âhttp://www.jcomputers.us/vol12/jcp1204-05.pdfâ July 2017.
According to the article âA novel engine: Complex event processing LAIPEâ by several authors Dong Wang, Mingquan Zhou, Sajid Ali, Yusong Liu, Pengbo Zhou , explains a complex event processing (CEP) engines, thatâs responsible for filtering, selecting and aggregating atomic events in order to represent high level composite. âA Novel engine: Complex Event Processing LAIPEâ By several authors Dong, Wang, Zhou, Mingquan, Zhou, Pengbo, and Ali, Sjid, thereâs been a increase to information systems due to the fact that data analysis is becoming a demandable. The data volume around the world has increased and as a result thereâs needs to be system set in place where these data can be collected and analyze.
3) Denning, Peter. â Computational thinking in science: the computer revolution has profoundly affected how we think about science, experimentation, and research.â (January-February 2017): p13
âComputational thinking is a fundamental skill for everyone, not just for computer scientists.â itâs stated in the article generated by Denning, Peter. The ideology that us as computer scientist need to think in a multiple level abstract way is indeed facts. What does computational thinking actually means one will says; well according to the article, âComputational thinking is using heuristic reasoning to discover a solution. It is planning, learning, and scheduling in the presence of uncertainty.â. Now i truly believe that is facts in term of being a computer scientists, one must have the ability to think in the sense of looking past just programming, but also understanding subject such as biology and physics. If you were to read current articles or news, you will notice how computational biology is changing how biologists are thinking in term of how to move forward into the future of advancing medicines.
