Hello, My name is Donna Liu and I am a student of The New York City College of Technology. I wasn’t always studying Hospitality Management. Before my revelation, I was a music major and have been since I was 8 years old. However, music became something I had to do instead of something I wanted to do in order to make ends meet. I was sad that I wouldn’t be able to have a music career anymore, but happy I have found my calling with this industry instead. I realized, I’ve worked hospitality jobs my whole life and I like how there is familiarity. Since then, I’ve grown to like and appreciate the industry more and more each and every day.
I am grateful to have had this opportunity to intern at Walt Disney World for 6 months, because as I would call it, they’re the Holy Grail of Hospitality. I have learned so much within these couples of months and will be learning more until my program ends in August. I will bring back the knowledge that I receive and input that into my next job and senior year of college. Although, taking this internship created another semester at City Tech, I have no regrets because in person experience is always worth it.
Luckily I have worked in a hotel before and know for sure that is where my heart lies. I am hoping to become a great future industry leader, as I have met so many through out my life. The goal is to climb my way up to corporate within a luxury hotel. I do believe I can make this happen.
