When considering an ad agency, some things to think about is what exactly one’s role would be. In fact, ad agencies have some pros about it. Agencies allows one to work on campaigns with big clients and accounts. In the process of doing that the bigger the network becomes the more money you are able to get as a designer. It also makes one better at being a writer as proposal writing and laying out a pitch for a client starts. Ad agencies has different range of designers that can possibly impact one’s life.
The Ted Talk with Elizabeth Gilbert made me think about how people see us as designers and creative people. People see designers as the people that are creative and we are crazy because we have creative-blocks sometimes. People think that we are supposed to top the thing we did before. We all have a fear that our work will be judged on a project that we did before and people think that is a normal thing. But it isn’t, it’s a process that we have to go through. We have to make sure that our work differs because we do have a tone to set and an audience to reach.
Letting creatives live in this day and age is what Gilbert was expressing. She was thinking that in the old century most authors would die young due to the stress and making sure their piece is better that the last. Sometimes designers would work harder to make sure their pieces are different and the flow of their work gets better. Making sure creatives live and get a chance to show their work in the millennial stages of their life becomes more important every day.
