Texture: The way a surface feels (actual texture) or looks (visual texture). Words such as rough, smooth, shiny, and dull are used to describe texture.
Value: The lightness or darkness of a color. For example, pink is a light value of red while navy is a dark value of blue.
For this assignment I had to collect pages from magazine ads with various shades of black, grey, and white together. Then I had to cut out various pieces and glue them together to show a black to white gradient with both value and texture included. My design has the Yin Yang symbol included because it represents balance which was the basis of the assignment.
