I shot this in his office with the shades down and asked the model to lift his head up while he was working. I also had the flash next to him to create split light.

I like this photo because of how soft the background is and the lighting of the image.

The image from “From Boys to Men in the South Bronx” shows patterns and repetition. It shows a boy sitting in an auditorium practicing the violin. The seats shows pattern as while as the stairs.
