This photo speaks to me in a engaging way because there are multiple subject and object sticking out at you catching your attention. It also shows a way for transportation to get from one place to another. Another speaks to me that the space and people sticking out the window because you can see each facial expressions and the limitation of the person by the window doesn’t take up much space due to how the photo was taken. It gives anatomy and texture of the photo from a distance to show details and contrast.
Part 2 Same Photo
The photographer Steven McCurry, uses this elements Figure to ground, Fill in Frame, Frame within a Frame to catch the reader attention to see multiple objects and space around them as well. Like Frame within a frame catch the viewer to look at a subject with a tight space in the background to keep the viewer on a particular subjects. Figure to ground to show off an organized group of people on a train to catch there attention to each group. And lastly Fill in frame but not some much because the photo isn’t up close to much to focus on one person instead of a group of others.
The photographer is Thomas Holton and photography is Lams, a Chinese family of 5 who lives in a 350 square foot apartment in Ludlow street, Chinatown. He’s intention was to get back into the Chinese heritage that he left cause he visited many homes but Lams family stook to him the most. The purpose of this photography is to catch the mood and tje reader or viewer eyes of this family of 5 and how they are strong but struggling as well.
The Steve McCurry photo you selected here is used in the video to illustrate the idea of using windows and doors in a photograph as frames within a frame. this helps organize the picture and direct the eye of the viewer.
