In the first shot where my classmate, Savon, is pointing at the camera, it shows a feeling dominate and power, like “I choose you”. With his finger in the foreground and the rest of him out of focus, this was a good example of combining a depth of field with soft lighting (three point lighting). Gives a motivational feel, like a cover of a magazine.

In the second shot, a wide angle, bird’s eye kind of shot, makes it as though Savon’s head is bigger compared to his “miniature” body.

In the third shot, it wasn’t planned for the shot to have a “blue” lighting, but it works anyways. The facial expression with the backlight and his blue shirt all work together to create a “blue mood”.

In this last shot, with the short 90 degree angle lighting, creates a gloomy feel, with half his face in complete darkness and the other half lit. Also the shadows that “creep” on his clothing, to make it as though he is “creeping from the darkness”.

Good work. the four portraits show real variety.

Just remember that three point lighting, is not used in your first picture but rather the third one. the three lights are the main light, the fill light and the background light.
