Out of the ten best photo my group and I took, I think this shot of one of my classmates is the best. The light balance is perfect, the broad light and the shadows balance well, the landscape mode works, and the facial expression fits as well. I think in this one, we used the filler to balance out the lighting.

To have broad light, the model’s face must be in a 3/4 view. Ivan is looking straight forward in this photo so we can’t use the terms broad and short.
I would suggest trying a vertical shot for a portrait. There is a lot of empty space in this shot.
