1  open Indesign, 10×10 inch composition

a.   add guides to define a 5×5 inch square in the center of the page
b.   add a letterfrom
c.   on another layer add crop bars
d.   create a digital figure-ground composition with a letterform 5×5 inches

2  crop 4 different ways, take a screenshot of each different cropping

1. 1. 1. 1. hold down shift, command, 4 to get a crop tool.
         2. click and drag to define area.
         3. include your grey frame in the cropped area

3  choose another letterform and create a new figure-ground composition.

4  repeat cropping for 3 new examples

5.  post all 8 screenshots in a new frame on Miro

6. enlarge one example of each letter to indicate your best example

7.  comment  in Miro on 2 different student’s work
