To-Do Before Class
- Daily Sketches (5 minimum) – Form
- Identify 5 buildings, structures, or other objects and do your best to identify some of it’s formal elements
- How is it composed? What are they key shapes? Is it additive? Subtractive? Something else?
- Provide a photograph of the building/object, and a sketch simplifying it into it’s key shapes
- Field Trip 1 – Reflection
- Write 1 paragraph reflecting on the topics we discussed on our field trip to Industry City
- No limitations on the topic – whatever stood out to you
- Kohl Elevations:
- Using two (2) sheets:
- Set up the title block on each sheet
- All labels to use architectural letting
- On sheet 1, draw the front and side elevations based on the measurements provided
- Sheet 2 to have the back and opposite side
- All elevations to be drawn at 1/4″ = 1′-0″

To-Do After Class
- Daily Sketches (5 minimum) – Section Cuts
- Identify 5 items that you can cut in half (fruits + vegetables work well…)
- Sketch each in it’s intact form (elevation), and then cut them down the middle and sketch what you see inside
- Use line weights to demonstrate the cut plane and interior elements
