My Role At The Company

My role at the nonprofit company is an intern, the team that I am a part of is the social media team. Being a part of this team requires me to be a content/ promotional creator.  This internship was brought to my attention by my internship coordinator. I reached out to the manager via email with my résumé, and a  link to my portfolio. A few minutes later I received an acknowledgement email for my request to be a part of the company. Later that day I received a phone call stating I was accepted to the company and I started my onboarding process the next day, followed by a 1:1 meeting with the Marketing strategist.  You can say my process was pretty simple.

As part of my on board welcoming process I met with the marketing Strategist, who is my  immediate boss and one of the board members of the company.  During the 1:1 meet we discussed what the company’s goals are and what was expected of me. The company’s goal is to drive traffic and interaction to their website in order to have the target audience sign up for the 10k sweepstakes and or donate to a nonprofit charity. They convert consumer’s time, attention, and behavior into revenue paid for by the sponsors. It was expressed that it is very important that we use different channels of social media to drive traffic to the site.

My responsibilities are to design, create and execute social media campaigns to promote the current sweepstakes. I have to create content and communications consistent with current company branding. This includes creating, posting promotional banners and communication write ups.  The sweepstakes will be drawn in August so I have June and July to execute as many promotions as possible. While including the different holidays and collaborating with other team members on various projects. Giving me a chance to experience working with others and combine our skills to have a successful event.
