Climate

Luxembourg’s weather is unlike the rest of Europe. During summers in Luxembourg, the climate has pleasant weather but is partially cloudy and as for the winters in Luxembourg, they’re described to be very cold, windy and cloudy as well (weather spark). Throughout the year, the temperature consistently varies from 31°F to 74°F and is rarely below 19°F or above 86°F. Luxembourg’s environment and weather can be classified as a moderate oceanic Western European climate (climate knowledge portal) which has humid summers and a great amount of rain during the winters. One would need an umbrella or a waterproof jacket to be able to enjoy exploring and walking around the city.

For the most part Luxembourg is known to have a varying climate where the people of Luxembourg are able to experience all four seasons. All seasons occur with generally cold winters and gentle warm summers. Different areas in Luxembourg have different climates for example the north from the south, one may experience cooler weather and witness more rainfall in the northern part of the country rather than the southern part. In Luxembourg, it rains frequently not only in the winter but also randomly during the year but Luxembourg simultaneously has dry periods with higher temperature (Intrepid, 2023). Because of how cold winters get in Luxembourg, snow is relatively common and a frequent occurrence between December to February. Spring, summer, autumn and winter, Luxembourg is a welcoming destination all year round to discover (Luxembourg city,2019). Each season has its own special charm and many different activities are accessible during whichever season one decides to visit Luxembourg. Spring is a beautiful yet a little unpredictable season. Nature in the city comes back to life and one will enjoy the sight of flowers blooming around the city center and in the parks. Better take an umbrella with you to be prepared for a change of weather.
