“The United States interest in Japan was led by the political agenda to contain communism.  After the war, the United States pushed for the recovery of Japan.  They did this by creating a flow of import and export between the United States, Japan, and other countries.  The United States even provided Japan with the natural resources in order for them to manufacture and export them back to the U.S.”
