In general there seems to be a return to some of the classic techniques of art, a vintage look is all the range. I think this is a reaction to the rapid growth of technology and the precision that technology brings. In photography digital photography has put crisp high definition images just a click away, but as the article and clip point out something is lost in the process. There’s something beautiful about the random imperfections that arise from the old techniques, there’s a quality that is impossible to replicate and people are starting to notice that. Another reason for this return is that, simply put, it’s fun and that’s something we lose in digital photography. The process of creating something and excitement is also lost by just clicking a button every few seconds then choosing the “best” photograph. This loss of fun and unique imperfection is something that can also be seen in the conversion from vinyl to computers in DJing and a reason many DJs are going back to this former medium.
