This course introduces the product development process in the fashion industry, covering all stages from concept to consumer. Students will explore how trends are researched and influenced by social, political, and economic factors, as well as consumer behavior. Key topics include apparel manufacturing, sizing and measurement specifications, strategic merchandise planning, and mass production strategies for creating apparel collections. In addition to technical knowledge, the course develops general skills such as effective communication, critical thinking, and professional-level reading and writing.
