BUF 2203 Visual Merchandising Course Description:
This course explores visual merchandising by examining product presentation in retail environments, focusing on the theoretical and practical use of in-store design elements such as lighting, special effects, fixtures, and product placement to convey brand messages and influence consumer behavior. Topics include creating specialty and department store displays, designing visuals for walls and windows, and analyzing the effects of color, music, and lighting on consumer psychology. Students develop their Retail Marketing e-Portfolios, apply Elements of Design to visual displays, and use Scamper and Bell methodologies to evaluate retail displays.
