I don’t recall any information of stress in this talk. Although very informative I enjoyed this lecture.

Stress can cause a person to make the wrong decisions which may cause them to contract HIV. Under stress our behaviors change and how we deal with stress matters.
What role does/can stress and/or coping play in preventing (not getting) HIV?
Being able to successfully manage stress can effectively result in a person making the right decisions. Preventing the disease all together.
What role does/can stress and/or coping play in living with HIV?
Managing stress can reduce your chances of a lower CD4 count which means you’re less likely to progress into AIDS. You can live a very normal life with successful stress management.
While not being able to manage stress can be fatal to your health. By progressing into AIDS your immune system will be extremely weak and being stressed you’re more likely to catch another virus which partnered with AIDS can be fatal.

Based on this video i would say the stress of ones surrounding is what causes HIV.For example, people who live in a unstable housing condition are most likely to get affect by HIV than a person in a stable housing.

Well being aware of HIV and knowing how to have proper protected sex would reduce the stress level in knowing what and what not to do.

Living with HIV is a stress factor itself (connecting with the I’m Positive Game). It can also lead into depression and hopeless thoughts. Just because you live with HIV doesn’t mean it is not treatable. If properly taken care of , you can live a normal life with HIV.

A role that stress might have in HIV would be the actions you take at that moment because with stress people can’t think clearly. While you are with stress you might find a way to relax and stay calm for a while, but sometimes actions could lead you to bad habits. Some of this habits would be becoming a drug abuser. You can probably be influence on heroin and share needles with people who might be HIV Positive. Another reason might be drinking, even though alcohol doesn’t infect you with HIV, the decisions you make while you’re drunk combined with stress might affect with the sexual actions you take.

To prevent HIV would be to control you action. People should take healthy actions while they are with stress like play some sports, go to the gym and exercise, meditate or do yoga. This healthy action would prevent bad choices and lower the risk of being effected with HIV.

Stress can affect your mood/decisions. It can affect how our body responds to certain stimulus as well. We all have different ways of managing and handling stress as well. A person who chooses to use (abuse) alcohol or drugs, may find their body having trouble defending themselves (especially since alcohol is an depressant). Stress also puts one’s body in a state of constant alert, since your body is actively trying to protect itself. This can cause body to overwork itself, when it doesn’t need to (ie: your heart pumping faster than it should).

How one copes with stress, can greatly influence the chances of preventing HIV contraction. If one manages/copes with their stress in a healthy way, it encourages good health decisions/practices (ie: practicing safe sex).

It affects how motivated and determined you are in keeping up with your medication. Playing a sport or exercising, as a way to promote better health habits. Good stress management/coping can improve your bodies function/performance, along with healthier behavioral lifestyles.

I think stress play in contracting HIV because stress cause a person to make bad decision about their health.Stress cause a person to have a negative behaviors, which the person become unconscious about their health and does harmful stuff to their body, like having unprotected sex with someone that he/she meets in club.

Many people has stress that they suffering, but coping helps preventing disease by maintaining healthy diet, and exercise to maintains a better health. Good healthy habits have lesser chance of getting HlV. And positive attitude has better ideas to know where to get support about HlV and where to get treatment.

People living with HlV could make change by managing their behavior, which positive behavior allows person to think optimistic about their life and encourage them to live better to survive.Social support could encourage person with HlV to live, which person improves their mental health and follows up their treatment.

Some people with HIV might feel alone, isolated, and frightened at times. More than anything, they need good friends to lean on and trust to share ideas.

You should know how the disease is transmitted best condom used,You are less likely to become exposed to HIV if you do not have sex, reduce the number of your sexual partners, require sexual partners to get tested for HIV.

Stress and coping both are important in contracting HIV, Stress may lead people to engage in negative and unhealthy habits which may cause them contract HIV. Main reason of getting HIV is unprotected sex. There are various situations in which people do engage in such type of sexual relationships. They maybe stress and want to release their stress by having sexual relationship. They may take sexual relationship as a way of coping with stress but they may not pay attention to other areas such as wearing condoms and protected sex.

The stress or coping are helpful in preventing HIV. it is really important to analyze every decision that one make for their health. Everyone should be assertive about their health and should take care of that they do not get engaged in negative activities while they are stressed.

Stress and coping are essential in living with disease like HIV. I am referring back to the “I”am Positive paper. There were a lot of healthy behaviors were presented that a person with HIV should adopt to live healthy live with HIV. Once we know that we have a disease and it is going to be with us for the rest of lives, there is no point of stressed about. it is the time to cooperate and follow the healthy behaviors. For example, get done the required tests, take medications, avoid unprotected sex and also manage your stress.

Stress can play a big role in contracting HIV because the more stress you are there is a high likelihood that you would engage in risky behavior for example: doing drugs that would put you at risk of making poor decisions when it comes to sex. If you are not being save then the chance of you contracting HIV increase.
What role does/can stress and/or coping play in preventing (not getting) HIV? A person that is not stress may make positive decisions when it comes to wearing a condom or not sharing needles. Your mind set is clear so your are not putting yourself at risk.

You might be more susceptible to getting sick and getting other diseases. Stress lowers your immune system functions. So the more a person is stress free the better

The role that stress can play on someone that is coping with HIV or someone that has contracted HIV is that it can make the disease progress through your body faster if you are stressed out and stress can also lead you to make unhealthy decisions which could have led you to contract the disease.

The stress of knowing all the facts about HIV and all the ways you can contract it could scare a person to never want to be with someone because of being afraid of contracting the disease also it could lead them to contracting the disease by not being education on prevention techniques.

This is another thing where stress can lead people to develop AIDS because stress can break down your immune system. Stress can also lead someone with HIV to develop depression and anxiety.

Stress and/or coping play a major role in contracting HIV. When people are stressed out they are not in a right mind and situations to make correct decisions. People during stress tend to fall for negative habits such as drugs, alcohols etc. While having a stress people also look for sexual pleasure to release their stress.Sharing of needles and unprotected sex leads people in getting HIV.These various reasons during stress could lead them in contracting HIV.

A person at a right state of mind knows what is wrong. A person without a stress would never fall into drugs. Also he/she would be careful while having sex. Hence, Stress plays a major role in preventing HIV.

Obviously people living with HIV would have some stress. But coping with the stress and learning to live with HIV is a huge deal. One should be able to balance stress and learn how to be productive, take medications, visit doctors. Who is stressful might die soon compared to who is coping with the disease well by visiting doctors, taking medications and maintaining well being.
I believe that stress plays a huge role in your immune system. If a person deals with a lot of stress and is unable to cope with it thus making them more susceptible to diseases. If your body immune system is always weak due to stress and you are having unsafe sex of course this increases the risk of infection.
Stress and the lack of coping could lead to lax health behaviors. Negative health behaviors put people at a higher risk because they are not practicing safe behaviors. Contrary to this, when people are able to manage stress and learn positive coping mechanism they are more apt to care about their health by using more safe practices.
I believe that it is important to be able to manage stress not just for physical health purpose but for mental reasons. Coping and living with HIV could be rather hard for the mind without having to deal with stress. Since stress can not be avoided and we know that it is a fact that it can cause physical aliments, coping comes into affect. It helps people to remember to take their medications, keeps them from treating HIV as a death sentence. It is also crucial to the livelihood of those that are not affected by this disease. The lack of a coping mechanism can lead to negative health behaviors such as spreading the disease through promiscuity.

Stress and coping can play a major role in contracting HIV. When people are stressed they seem to always turn to unsafe practices as a coping strategy. Some of these coping habit are drug usage and sexual activities which can contract HIV.

Surprisingly stress can also have a positive impact such as preventing HIV. If a person is stressed about a situation they tend to stay to themselves and not interact with drugs or other people whom they are capable of contracting this illness from.
