The second shooting was really interesting. I wanted to make it look like treasure so i added some jewelry around it to compliment it. I used white paper for my background and this time i did not have trouble with the lighting. The lamp had so much detail to capture i had fun shooting it.

Midterm Part 2

In this shoot I was having some issues with the light and placement of my object(s). Since they are colorful it was hard to make it look gloomy/sad, but i think i manage to get some good pictures. it wasn’t as easy as the first part of this shoot. Also i tried playing with the shadows .

Hw5

On hw5 (Buy me!) I thought this one was fun.

i enjoyed the Lipstick shoot in the classroom and when i got home it was the same feeling, but with a bottle of perfume. didn’t had much trouble with Hw5.

and i hope to do it again.

HW4

childhood Toy- shoot happy vs bad.

I found this one a bit hard because i didn’t have mirrors in my house… yeah it’s sad.

But I manage to find one and did the first shots fast…i guess. Yet I it was hard to focuses because the mirror was small.

but somehow i got it done.

Native American Part II

Last week I had a lot of trouble trying to figure out a lighting that would give the doll two completely different emotions. This time I had to really focus on the lighting more than the object itself. My object only had one emotion, it was hard because I couldn’t give her a different body position. I really had to use shadows to my advantage to show mostly her big sad eyes rather than her smile, which is painted on her face. Overall, the lighting became easier to control and gave a huge impact on my doll.

This was great-fun as usual. I used Alba Botanica face lotion, ice, glass dish, black background that turned into this beautiful brownish color, lemon and brown curtains. I covered the light with the curtains to achieve this background effect.  After several different setups I came up with this one where I flipped the glass dish and placed ice cubes inside to create the effect on the dish. I experimented with different setups, aperture, f-stops and ISO and it was very interesting  to see the results that I was achieving.

Midterm part 2

For the second part of the midterm I choose a half black background. This decision came after I saw the first part of the midterm was full with light with a bright background and to show a different feeling. With the subject being black and similar to the background i found out it wasn’t focusing all the time so I had to be careful with that.

Midterm Part 2

This weeks photo shoot went surprisingly smooth. I didn’t really run into any complications, I just tried a whole bunch of different things with the subject and had a lot of fun with it. I also had to slightly brighten a few photos bump up the contrast on a few, and make some minor corrections in the fabric, but other than that, as I said, everything went pretty smoothly. My favorite photo this week would have to be this one:

For the background I used a pink sweater of mine which I think compliments the pink flower on the locket, to create a (hopefully) happy feel.

Midterm Project-Total Tranformation 2

This week, I continued work on my midterm project. Last week I would say, was more of a trial run for me. Instead of using a sheet to put my crayons on, I used paper, but only for the happy pictures. For the sad pictures, I lowered my exposure, placed the crayons on the glass table it self to capture reflections, faced both clamp lights in the opposite directions so they weren’t directly on the subject, and used the ‘sad crayons’. My ‘sad crayons’ were the funny looking, messed up ones and of course the black crayon, since extreme sadness and depression can be associated with that color. For my happy pictures, I put careful thought into positioning the crayons – that way they’d look organized and can be enjoyed. As for the sad pictures on the other hand, I just threw them one on top of the other and placed the ‘sad crayons’ further in front, that way they would be the main focus.
