This assignment showed me how to properly look for jobs. I didn’t know that there would be so many opportunities and these are just in NY.
I always had a fondness for mathematics, Its the reason I became an engineer. I have good problem solving skills, which is a key trait for engineering. I enjoy doing basic arithmetic and never get tired of it. At City Tech I had a lot of opportunities of hands on experiences. It have me a good idea about the applications of my knowledge.
Con Ed has the most demand for electrical engineers. They have different requirements for the different fields of work they offer. But the general requirements are:
- Strong knowledge of AC and DC power systems.
- Working knowledge of Mathematics.
- Excel at calculations.
- Willing to work in any weather.
- Work with ladders.
- Work in manholes.
- Work on roofs or elevated platforms.
- Perform testing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Lift up to 60 lbs.
- Be a team player
- Show leadership skills.
- Willing to work overtime!
