Our project location was the East River Child Developmental Center. This is a private non-for profit educational facility for kids with communication and learning delays. East river child development center is an example of an educational institution in which people within the community can place their children and receive special services for their child at an early age. Our target population is children with special needs between the ages of 2 and 5. We tried to incorporate fun engaging activities related to dental hygiene such as brushing. We planned to utilize visual aids, such as cartoons, typodonts, and stuffed animals. Our group planned to bring and distribute dental hygiene kits for the “tell-show-do” technique. East River Child Developmental Center is a place in which they welcome activities that will enrich the students while making modifications according to the children’s needs.
