BP 2 and Tech Lit Narrative Draft–Due Sept 14, 2023.

It was a pleasure having you all in class yesterday. Sorry that room was so hot. I let the “authorities” know. If we have the same situation next week, we’ll just switch to an adjacent room (though we won’t have computers handy.)

First things first, make sure to create an account with the City Tech Writing Center.  The link is here. You should take your paper to the writing center at least once before the final draft is due, which is September 21st. I’d probably expect that many of you will be drafting between the 7th and the 14th and set the appointment up for the week between the 14th and the 21st. If you can get in more than once, by all means. I will be asking you to share your writing center experience, so be prepared to discuss that down the road.

Next week you should post the first draft and second blog post. Make sure to title your post the following

BP2 and Draft 1 Tech-Lit Narrative.

Remember part 2 will be shared with you on the 14th. You can attach the assignment to Blog Post 2. When you are ready to attach the word file, just hit the Add Media button at the top left and upload the paper. Here is the assignment.

Blog Post 2

For next week, read the first 54 pages of McLuhan for Beginners. It is found under Primary Texts Fall 2023 on the right. Read up through the section called Station Break.

As you read through, I’d like you complete three distinct, easy tasks:

Part 1.

Make a numbered list of questions and comments that come to mind as you are reading. These can either be responses, connections, thoughts that are generated, questions you want to ask the text, questions you want to ask me, or questions you want to ask the class. Try to come up with at least 10 questions/comments from the reading.

Part 2

Pick a quote or a few quotes from the reading that stand out to you. Quote it, let us know the page number, and let us know what you think or what questions you have.

Part 3

Pick an image from the reading that you thought was interesting. Take a screenshot and upload it to your blog post. Tell us the page number it’s on and why you chose this image. What kind of response did it invoke?

That’s it. Have a great week. Hit me up with questions.
