I wanted to share the progress and experiences from the Bindlestiff Show’s first performance on September 26th.
The show was a success, and the audience response was fantastic. The lighting design played a significant role in enhancing the overall experience, and I’m thrilled with how well the chosen colors, designs, and effects complemented each act. It was incredibly rewarding to see everything come together on the big night.
That being said, I want to provide some insights into the challenges we encountered during the process. One notable hurdle was the limited time we had for rehearsals. Unfortunately, the rehearsals were scheduled on the same day as the show, leaving us with a tight timeframe. This constraint impacted our ability to get all the cues finalized as we would have liked.
The rush of rehearsals and the actual show on the same day created a time crunch, making it challenging to fine-tune and perfect every lighting cue. Despite this challenge, the team worked diligently to prioritize and focus on the most critical aspects, ensuring that the essential cues were executed seamlessly during the performance.
To address the changes we made to the performance, I utilized Vectorworks software to update the lighting plot. This included extending the aerialist lights and refocusing certain lights to accommodate the specific needs of the show. The software allowed for precise adjustments, ensuring that the revised lighting design was seamlessly integrated with the performances.
Looking ahead, I’m confident that we can address this challenge for the upcoming shows in October. We’ve identified areas for improvement in scheduling and coordination to allow for more comprehensive rehearsals, ensuring that we have ample time to fine-tune and perfect the lighting cues for each act.
The success of the first show has energized the team, and we’re committed to building on this momentum for the subsequent performances. With a bit of adjustment in our approach to rehearsals and the invaluable use of Vectorworks, I’m optimistic that we’ll overcome the time constraints and deliver an even more polished and dynamic lighting display for the upcoming Bindlestiff Show dates in October.
Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to updating you on our progress.
