My role within NYPIRG is a student project leader of the public health campaign, and the title of my supervisor is called Project Coordinator. I came to choose NYPIRG because I was recommended it by Professor Stella Nicolaou. So I sent in my application and got accepted to intern here.
I had a online interview before I was accepted, which was just to get to know me better and what I can bring to the table, and what NYPIRG does as a organization. It was just me and the Project Coordinator in the interview, right after I was done, I was accepted into the position.
Questions they asked was what issues I was interested. NYPIRG has a bunch of core issues and there were many I was interested in, especially the one that talks about Public Transportation. They eventually assigned me to work on the Public Health Campaign instead, which was one of my other choices.
