Medicago sativa (Alfalfa) leaves are known to use as the treatment of arthritis to upset stomach.  It contains a high concentration of vitamin K, so patients currently taking any anticoagulant medication should seek their healthcare provider’s input before taking any alfalfa product. It has a hypoglycemic effect, which may induce unintentional drops in blood glucose for diabetic patients. Long-term use of alfalfa can worsen autoimmune conditions such as lupus and multiple sclerosis. This research paper enhanced my knowledge of Alfalfa and its counter interactions affects on patients with other medical conditions.
